Muslims in Singapore observe a holy month known as Ramadan, this year ending on June 25th. During the month Muslims gather at the end of each day at sundown to break fast. During Ramadan visit areas like Kampong Glam and Geylang Serai for night markets that sell clothes and best of all, special sweets and savouries. This is a fantastic time to visit Singapore and sample our unique culture! Five Stones Hostel is the perfect place to stay, especially as we are located in the heart of Ramadan activities. The end of the holy month is celebrated on Hari Raya Puasa (the “Day of Celebration”) an important religious festival marking the end of the month of fasting. Hari Raya Puasa occurs on the 25th of June this year.
