Reservations can only be done with a valid credit card. A 10% deposit will be charged to your credit card to reserve your room. The credit card should not expire before the last day of your stay.
We require information on your nationality and a valid email address/phone number. A booking reference will be provided upon confirmation.
To preserve the backpacker hostel’s atmosphere, we generally do not accept children below the age of 14 years old. Children younger than 14 years old may be approved on a case by case basis depending on the Management’s discretion. Each teenage guest below 16 years old will need to be accompanied by at least one adult. We do not allow sharing of beds.
Guests who do not observe the terms and conditions of booking will be turned away without refunds.
We do not provide transportation to our hostel, but we will be happy to direct you over the phone. FSH is located in an extremely convenient location at 285 Beach Road, Singapore 199550. Should you require transportation, we will be able to arrange a taxi to pick you up. All fees will be paid directly to the driver.
Check In and Payment
Check in time is from 3pm to 10pm. Our reception opening hours are between 8am to 10pm. If you are checking in later than 10pm, please ensure that it is indicated in your booking details, else please inform us in advance so that we can make special arrangements.
Upon check in, full payment for your stay must be made in Singapore dollars. A S$20 refundable deposit per key card will be also be collected. For credit card payments, a 5% bank surcharge will be applicable. Most guests prefer to pay in cash to avoid the credit card surcharge. Our staff will be happy to direct you to an ATM. No other taxes will be levied.
All guests must produce a valid foreign passport upon check-in. While we have no nationality restrictions, but we do not encourage Singapore residents (citizens, PRs or others) to stay with us as we prioritise our beds for in-bound tourists. Singapore residents will only be accepted on a case by case basis, so please contact us for enquiries before you proceed with your booking.
If your travel plans change, we would be grateful if you could inform us as soon as possible.
Cancellations and altered reservations received and confirmed less than 48 hours from time of check-in will incur the first night’s charge. Deposits are non-refundable. Cancellations and altered reservations can only be done via email. You need to receive a reply from us to confirm your cancellation. Phone cancellations or altered reservations will not be accepted.
Five Stones Hostel is not responsible for cancellations or altered reservations due to guest input error or force majeure circumstances and will charge the first night in case of a late cancellation or a no-show.
During Your Stay
We trust our guests to upkeep a friendly and socially responsible environment for all fellow backpackers. However, in the event of any damage to our premises or assets, we will need to levy a charge. Charges will be deducted from the S$20 deposit and if it is insufficient, guests will need to top up the difference.
The maximum stay in the Five Stones Hostel is 14 days. This policy is to prevent overstayers/students/workers from diluting the backpacker’s atmosphere. If you would like to request for special exemption, please email us.
For information on group bookings, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org (sometimes, we do have special rates for group bookings hehe). Please note that we only work directly with guests, we do not deal through travel agents.
Right of Refusal
Five Stones Hostel reserves the right to refuse a guest or even a group on arrival (and even after check in), if we deem that the guest is under the influence of alcohol or hard-drugs, unsuitably dressed or behaving in a threatening, abusive or otherwise unacceptable manner.
Guests shall behave with respect towards other guests and hostel staff and shall be held responsible for their own actions within the hostel, during their stay on the premises, and outside of the hostel. The owners of the hostel and their managers shall be absolved of any responsibility and costs in connection with the actions of its guests.
Bringing in Guests
If you invite guests (other than hostel-guests) into the hostel please note that they are only permitted to hang out with you between 9am to 10pm. Guests are only allowed in the lounge area and under no circumstances may they enter the bed rooms. We seek your understanding and cooperation to observe this rule for the security and privacy of other guests. Any guests found in violation of this rule will be immediately checked out with no refund.
Detailed Check In Information
- A valid passport is required while checking in.
- We reserve the right to refuse reservations if the reservation information provided is incorrect or false.
- Check-in is from 3pm – 10pm.
- Check-out is no later than 12noon.
- No curfew, no lock-out
- No overnight luggage storage but same-day luggage storage is available till 10pm.
- Minimum age 14 years. Guests below 16 years old have to be accompanied by adults above 21 years old.
- No pets.
- All our rooms are strictly non-smoking but you can smoke outside the building on Level 1.
- Due to hygiene/smells, we ask that no alcohol or food should be consumed in the dorm rooms. Please be considerate to your fellow backpackers.
